ROYAL NAVAL ASSOCIATION BI-ENNIAL PARADE – SUNDAY
8 SEPTEMBER 2013 – PARADE ORDERS
Introduction
1. The Royal Naval Association will be holding its Biennial Parade at the Cenotaph at Whitehall on Sunday 08 September 2013. Associations and individuals related to the Naval Service are cordially invited to march with their Shipmates and to parade their Standards with the RNA National Standard, RNA Area, RNA Branch Standards, Confederation of Naval Associations Standards and Guest Standards.
It is anticipated that 3 or 4 standards and marchers will parade from AFAFN/NVOZM (Belgium), and there will be marchers from AVOM (The Netherlands).
The Parade is to form up in Whitehall Place march along Whitehall and is to dismiss in Whitehall Place after a wreath laying ceremony on the Cenotaph. The Chaplain of the Fleet and RNA Honorary Chaplain, Scott J Brown QHC has agreed to officiate at the Service of Remembrance. The Chief of Naval Personnel & Training and 2nd Sea Lord, Vice Admiral David Steel CBE will take the Review, accompanied by our National President, Vice Admiral John McAnally CB LVO, who will say a few words at the conclusion of the parade, as will The Minister for Personnel, Welfare and Veterans The Right Hon Mark Francois MP has also been invited to attend.
Parade
2. S/M Mick Kieran is responsible for the execution of the parade acting as the Parade Commander. He will be assisted by S/Ms Jim Paterson (Marching Section) and Chris Durban (Standards Marshall). The Parade Programme, Orders and Route are contained within the annexes.
Manpower
3. RNA HQ staff and the Metropolitan Police Events Liaison Officer, Neil Denny are to be in attendance to co-ordinate and provide assistance during the event. They are to wear 'High Visibilty ' jackets and carry radios and mobile telephones for communications during the event;
